Ukrainian Ambassador to Ireland Larisa Geranko was outraged by the current situation.

“They bought tickets, arrived in Ireland, so it may be better to announce in advance the lack or absence of accommodation,” she said.

The Department for Children, Equality, Disability, Inclusion and Youth said there are currently more than 58,000 refugees living in Ireland, including 42,000 Ukrainians and 16,000 from other internationally protected countries.

As a solution to the problem, the Irish government will consider increasing the monthly payment to 400 euros for Irish families for the placement of Ukrainians.
