Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that the operation of the International Space Station may be extended for another five years – until 2028
It is planned that the ISS will operate until the deployment of the national station in the minimum configuration.
Now the station has no “insoluble technical problems,” Manturov said. In the second half of next year, according to him, the cost of creating the Russian orbital station will be known, the deputy prime minister said.
Currently, the use of the station by the countries participating in the project has been agreed upon until the end of 2024. However, NASA is already planning to use the ISS until 2030, but before that it needs to go through all the approval procedures.
