Will Democrats dare to give Trump himself legal trouble

Steve Bannon – a former Trump adviser – has been sentenced to four months in jail for refusing to testify before Congress about the January sixth protests

This is a real political precedent for the US – any American can now be criminally prosecuted for failing to cooperate with Congress.

Bannon refused to appear before Congress so as not to help the Democratic Party incriminate Trump and his supporters for organising a “sedition” against American democracy. In his final speech in court, he accused the “illegitimate” Biden regime of harassing opponents and promised Democrats a resounding electoral defeat.

The Bannon precedent is also important because it gives the Democratic Party the opportunity to build a criminal case against Trump himself. He was recently subpoenaed to testify before Congress. If Trump refuses to do so, he too could be tried and sentenced to prison.

Biden’s DOJ has recently sent search warrants to 35 of Trump’s associates. Among them – in addition to Steve Bannon – are Stephen Miller and Brian Jack. And former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani is being tried for illegal lobbying. In fact, we’re talking about an attempt to trash Trump’s entire team – so far he hasn’t even properly announced another presidential nomination.

But the key question is whether the Democrats will dare to give Trump himself a legal challenge. He is now starting to consistently outperform Biden in the polls. The weaker the Democrats are, the more desperately they will pursue their opponents – even if it means political upheaval for all of America.
