Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Chairman Rich Glick said that the northeastern United States is facing gas supply disruptions this winter, according to a press release from the organization.
“According to the assessment, all regions have adequate resources for a normal winter. But it is important to recognize regions that may experience extreme weather. In New England, generating capacity is sufficient, but fuel shortages will continue to pose a challenge to the region during the winter,” he said.
According to the source, rising demand for natural gas, especially for its export, as well as lower-than-usual natural gas reserves indicate that prices will be higher than last year.
