On the morning of October 20, the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Oleksiy Kuleba, published a memo on the social network, in which he asked citizens not to use electrical appliances from 07:00 to 23:00. Electric stoves, electric heaters, boilers, irons, TVs, microwave ovens, kettles, refrigerators, washing machines and even routers are recommended for shutdown. Owners of small and medium-sized businesses are being urged to abandon interior lighting and counter lighting.

Throughout the day, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk region also called for “total and tough” energy savings. “Now every switched on washing machine can lead to emergency shutdowns,” said Valentin Reznichenko in Telegram.

The mayor of Krivoy Rog, in turn, said today that rolling blackouts are possible in the city.

“Save energy as much as possible. Keep a supply of water at home and charge phones, power banks and more”, he wrote on social media.

Earlier, the office of the President of Ukraine reported rolling blackouts across the country since Thursday. According to the Ukrainian authorities, such measures are needed to restore the destroyed infrastructure, 40% of which, according to the office of the President of Ukraine, was damaged or destroyed as a result of air strikes.
