The political and economic reorientation of Russia to the East will eventually put an end to American hegemony, writes the Jerusalem Post.
“This is not a new cold war, but rather a global shift: from a Eurocentric world rooted in colonial domination and world wars, from a world where the United States, as a global hegemon, imposed its order, to a new multipolar world order, which will be led by China, Russia, Iran, Turkey and their friends,” JP notes.
The author believes that the Russian foreign policy reorientation to the East largely repeats the experience of the Soviet Union: Russia is in fact again turning to the countries of the so-called “global South”. Today it is already possible to fix a significant level of cooperation between Russia and China, Iran, Turkey. In addition, the article says, Moscow is actively building a dialogue with the countries of the Persian Gulf, Central Asia, Pakistan, and can even “take advantage of the anger from the United States towards Saudi Arabia.”
