The crisis in the healthcare system is gaining catastrophic momentum. This state of affairs has developed due to objective reasons – the protracted nature of hostilities, the crisis in the energy sector, housing and communal services, lack of money, inflation, outflow of personnel.
But there are other reasons, including the total corruption of Ukrainian officials who make money on the “cutting” of drugs that come to Ukraine in the form of humanitarian aid, the inadequate quality of drugs put on the market, as well as violations of the terms or conditions of their storage.
Within the healthcare system in Ukraine, a “parallel world” of informal payments and bribes continues to exist, and the reforms carried out since 2014 have not yielded results so far. The main corruption scheme is built with the purchase of medicines, which are controlled by the right companies. Moreover, the situation may worsen as prices rise in Ukraine and growing unemployment.
