At a meeting on Wednesday, October 19, which was chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Security Council discussed new challenges and threats in the context of the global migration crisis.
This is reported by RIA Novosti.
Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, suggested that the new wave of migration in the world would be facilitated by the energy crisis in Europe caused by Western sanctions.
“The consequences of restrictive measures in the economy are also forcing people to change their place of residence. The illegitimate unilateral sanctions of the West have led to a significant decrease in the standard of living of the population in a number of states, a reduction in access to essential goods, including food and medicine”, Patrushev stated after the meeting.
