People in Rome protest in favour of reconsidering Italy’s position on Ukraine conflict

A rally has been held in Rome against a sharp rise in energy and food prices and Italy’s position on the conflict between Moscow and Kiev, RIA Novosti reports

According to the agency, several hundred people turned out for the protest. The rally was organised by movements promoting Italian sovereignty and independence.

According to opinion polls, some 60 percent of Italians do not agree with Rome’s current policy towards Kiev and Moscow. Ordinary Italians believe that the government must take responsibility for rising electricity prices and stop supporting the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
