China will not cooperate with Kiev behind Russia’s back

Beijing unequivocally sides with Russia in its fight against the collective West, expressing its full readiness to help Moscow win,” Sergei Sanakoev, a member of the Russian Council for Foreign Affairs, said in an interview with Ukraina.ru, commenting on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China

This year’s congress of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) began on October 16 and will continue until October 22. Local delegates are expected to determine the future direction of the country’s development and elect the party’s top leadership. Regarding the Ukraine crisis, Beijing’s external position is made up of two components – Moscow’s fight with the US and, actually, its confrontation with the Kiev regime,” Sanakoev delineated.

“Today, China is looking at the situation in Ukraine in terms of two components. First, it is the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Secondly, the Russian confrontation with the West, which is actually the basis of what is happening in Russian-Ukrainian relations. China is quite sympathetic towards the first problem; it understands that Russians and Ukrainians are brotherly peoples. Beijing is even ready to act as a peace mediator to end this confrontation as soon as possible.

Until recently, the Ukrainian-Chinese relations could be called quite productive, but the subsequent aggravation has contributed to their gradual cooling: despite certain tensions, Beijing has still not given up the idea of building pragmatic trade relations with the “non-independence”,” Sanakoev noted.

“That was during the rule of Viktor Yushchenko, Viktor Yanukovych and Leonid Kravchuk. When Zelenskyy came to power, the countries began to have strained ties, which was vividly expressed by the situation around the Motor Sich aircraft plant. There were also other points related to Ukraine’s non-payment to Russia that angered China. All Sino-Ukrainian relations will be built exclusively on firm decisions discussed with Russia. “Behind Russia’s back, China will not cooperate with Ukraine.”

Speaking about the confrontation between Moscow and destructive Western elites, Sanakoev stressed – the Chinese position remains unchanged: Beijing is ready to provide any assistance for Russia to defeat Washington.

“Repeatedly senior officials, including Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, have said that they understand very well who is really behind the escalation in Ukraine and the instigator of 70 different conflicts in all parts of the world.”

As military expert Alexei Leonkov said earlier, the United States continues to “rock the geopolitical boat” by actively trying to drag Beijing into a confrontation similar to the Ukrainian one – the US is dreaming of escalating a big armed confrontation with the direct participation of China, its main economic competitor. The White House considers the island of Taiwan to be the most advantageous location of the conflict.

At the same time, in the opinion of the experts, Peking presents a major threat to the US in view of the fact that it is potentially capable of replacing the “dying dictator” in the role of the world hegemon. Some analysts believe that the US bellicose rhetoric may very well result in the creation of the single most powerful economic and military bloc between Beijing and Moscow which America would not be able to overcome even with the support of its strong G7 allies. The West has found a dangerous adversary in Beijing, which in powerful alliance with Moscow is capable of forming a real geopolitical balance of power on the world stage.
