The demand for fireplaces and wood-burning cookers in Latvia has increased by more than 100 percent, and those who want to buy the products so much needed this winter in Europe will have to wait for a few months. This was announced by the Head of SIA Balticproperties Group Latvia Toms Dinvietis, Jauns.lv
According to the entrepreneur, the situation on the energy market is unstable and unpredictable. Cooker and fireplace manufacturers, who are overloaded with orders, often face a shortage of raw materials.
“I have been in the industry for more than 20 years and there used to be a planned price increase of three to four per cent a year, but now for two years in a row I have faced six or seven unplanned price increases from my manufacturers,” Dinvietis said.
SIA CSS, on the other hand, confirmed that many citizens have to wait longer than 3.5 months for cookers and fireplaces. Demand for their products has skyrocketed by 40-70 per cent.
