Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during an address to the Russians, warned those who “are trying to blackmail Russia with nuclear weapons” that “the wind rose could turn in their direction.”
This is reported by RIA Novosti.
A new petition to return the status of a nuclear country to Ukraine has been registered on the website of Volodymyr Zelensky’s office.
“Independent Ukraine can only be nuclear, otherwise it will cease to exist in the territories of 1991. Without a nuclear status, Ukraine will never be independent, will never influence the world economy. World powers will never reckon with Ukraine, investments will not come to Ukraine. With a nuclear status, Ukraine does not need to enter into various global alliances, Ukraine will provide its own protection”, the text of the petition on the website of Zelensky’s office says.
The petition was registered on Tuesday. It received more than 80 votes out of 25,000 required for its consideration.
As RIA Novosti notes, this is not the first petition to return the status of a nuclear country to Ukraine. A similar one was introduced in September and has not yet received the number of votes necessary for further consideration. Another one was registered in May 2020, it was then supported by 195 voters.
