In Poland, a leak was discovered on one of the two strings of the Druzhba oil pipeline, the main route for oil supplies to Germany. This was announced by the operator of the Polish section Pern.
“On Tuesday, late in the evening, PERN automation systems detected a leak in the Przyjaźń [Friendship] pipeline on one of the two lines of the western section of the pipeline, about 70 kilometers from Plock,” the report says (quoted by RFM24 TV channel).
It is clarified that the damage occurred on a pipeline serviced by PERN, which supplies crude oil to Germany. The leak was recorded in a pipe with a diameter of 80 cm at a pressure of 30 atmospheres.
“At the moment, the causes of the incident are not known – pumping in the damaged pipeline was immediately stopped. The second pipeline is working without changes,” Pern noted.
Other sections of the Pern infrastructure, including the Pomeranian section, through which Russian oil is delivered by tankers first to Poland and then to Germany, are functioning normally. The Polish operator said that he was guarding the accident site.
