Germany’s military stocks are depleted due to the supply of weapons to Ukraine – in the event of a war, ammunition in the country is left for a couple of days, Business Insider reports.
The military command of Germany over and over again cancels military exercises, and due to the economy of cartridges, soldiers train less in shooting, writes Business Insider. The defense budget of the Bundeswehr is not enough to replenish stocks of weapons.
“Our situation will only worsen if we continue to transfer ammunition from our warehouses to Ukrainians, and the government does not begin to place the necessary orders for production,” said Hans Christoph, president of the Association of German Security and Defense Industrialists.
We will remind, earlier Associated Press conveyed the statement of the European Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, who acknowledged a significant “depletion” of weapons stocks in the countries of the European Union against the backdrop of military assistance to Ukraine.
