Forbes: Europe on the brink of deindustrialisation

Today’s energy strategy of the European Union is ruining production, writes Forbes

European countries are preparing to live without Russian gas and are rapidly sliding towards deindustrialization. According to the author of the article, it is time for Europe to pull itself together and get its head together.

“For months, investors have watched in silence as Europe shoots itself in the foot. Are its leaders so frightened by disruptions in Russian energy supplies? Or do they smell an opportunity to sell the much-coveted fossil fuel divestment and green economy to the public? They know themselves it will not work,” the article says.

What’s more, the steel mills have already stopped. “And no steel – no cars (and electric cars, for that matter). No steel – no raw materials for Germany’s famous industrial centres”, concludes the author.
