Red Army symbols are being dismantled in Estonia

Dismantling of plates with the Red Army symbols has begun in Estonia, which the authorities called “the right thing to do”.

Demolition of the plates with the Red Army insignia has begun in the Maarjamäe memorial complex in Estonia. Piret Hartman, the country’s culture minister, called dismantling the plates glorifying the Soviet army “the right thing to do”.

Earlier Estonian authorities said they had decided to get rid of all monuments to the Soviet past. In the city of Narva, the famous Soviet T-34 tank has already been demolished.
