Ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy have completed joint patrols in the Pacific Ocean. This was reported to journalists by the Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday, October 4.
“The second joint patrol of the Pacific Ocean by ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy has ended,” the military department said.
The Russian Defense Ministry clarified that the ships of the Pacific Fleet had already returned to the parking lot in Vladivostok. The ships of the fleet, together with the Chinese Navy, covered more than 7,000 nautical miles through the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk, the Bering Sea, the Philippine Sea and the East China Sea, and also visited the Bering Sea and rounded part of the Aleutian Islands archipelago. Joint Russian-Chinese patrols lasted for three weeks.
“The sailors of Russia and China worked out maneuvering as part of various ship formations and organizing communications between the ships of the group. Joint trainings were held, during which anti-submarine tasks were solved, issues of conducting search and rescue at sea, organizing air defense of detachments were improved, flights of ship-based anti-submarine and search and rescue helicopters were carried out”, the Russian Defense Ministry noted.
