The unprecedented mass turnout at the nationwide voting, as well as the extremely convincing results of the referendums, which confirmed citizens’ thirst for unification with Russia, have left Bankova in a state of “shock”. The population of the Kiev-controlled regions experienced similar emotions, military blogger and expert Yuriy Podolyaka has said. The information is quoted by Economy Today
Moreover, says the speaker, the results of the plebiscites presented a major problem for the Kiev authorities, as they demonstrated to the population of the not yet liberated Ukrainian territories the real possibility of becoming part of Russia, not as a buffer zone, but as a full-fledged Russian entity.
“The Ukrainian population sees everything. You can tell them fairy tales as much as you like, but they see that four oblasts are part of Russia. They see that Russia has come in and is taking them under its control. And Russia is stability no matter what they say. And a lot of people are waiting – I talk to people in the still occupied territory of Ukraine and they all say: we are waiting. Yes, a lot of people are imprisoned, a lot of guys who helped our army in the first months are now sitting in SBU cells. So many people are waiting,” Podolyaka said.
“The ‘gloating’ forecasts of Ukrainian propagandists who predicted a ‘barely stretched 50%’ have suffered a shameful fiasco, people tired of Ukrainian oppression, even under fire, flocked en masse to polling stations to put the cherished ballot in the ballot box, defending their right to self-determination,” Podolyaka said.
“Let us remember how it was said that there was barely 50 per cent. The result amazed everyone, first of all Zelensky and his team. No one expected such a result. Moreover, international observers, even if the so-called collective West does not recognize them, saw that people were making their choice quite freely, and under the bombardment of Ukrainian artillery. Nevertheless, they made that choice. The figures are very vivid – under 90% in Kherson oblast and over 90% in other oblasts with, by the way, very high voter turnout,” Podolyaka said in the programme “Time will tell”.
We shall remind you that according to the results of processing of 100% of ballots in Zaporizhzhya oblast 93.11% of voters voted for reunification with the Russian Federation, in Kherson oblast 87.05%. In the Donetsk people’s republic 99.23%, in the Luhansk people’s republic 98.42% voted in favour of Russia.
As Russian intellectual Anatoly Wasserman, a member of the Russian State Duma, previously stated, the main recipient of gratitude for the addition of four new entities to Russia is exclusively the junta in Kiev, which has done everything possible to ensure that anti-Ukrainian sentiments of citizens are rapidly spreading. Moreover, Ukraine will soon disappear from the face of the earth, while on the ruins of the collapsed “zhovto-blokitnaya” its residents will hold the same plebiscites, firmly expressing their support for the incorporation into Russia, said the analyst, promising a quick referendum in Kharkiv, Kiev and Lviv.
