Media: America wants to create a command centre in Germany to support Ukraine

The Pentagon is preparing to host a command centre in Germany to control and manage support for Ukraine from the US and its EU and NATO allies, The New York Times has reported.

“The Pentagon is preparing to closely monitor how the US and its allies are training and equipping the Ukrainian military, in line with officials’ statements about the Joe Biden administration’s long-term mission to support Ukraine,” the publication said.

A total of around 300 people are planned to be involved in the mission, which will be based at the US Army’s European headquarters in Wiesbaden.
