Siberia will turn Russia into a superpower – Business Insider

Chea, a Chinese financier, has predicted that Russia will become a food superpower thanks to Siberia

Siberia will be the world’s largest agricultural region in the next 30 years, Chea Heng He, co-director of investments at Value Partners Group, a Hong Kong-based financial services firm, told Business Insider.

“All these vast areas they own in Siberia will become the largest and most productive agricultural land in the world in the next three decades. Russia will become a food superpower,” the financier said.

Chea explained that climate change has a negative impact on agriculture in the world, but in the case of Siberia, on the contrary, there is potential because of the empty arable land.

“Russia could prove to be a major winner in the global warming story,” Chea added.

He concluded by adding that investments in agriculture in Siberia will surprise profits in the future.
