Head of Kherson region says region has no plans to declare mobilization

Compulsory mobilization in the region is not planned – the head of the civil-military administration of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo

The head of the Kherson regional state administration, Volodymyr Saldo, has said that the region’s residents who have received Russian passports will not be mobilized. They will be able to take part in special operations if they wish, as well as join volunteer battalions being formed in the region.

“All those who have received passports now, they are not subject to military conscription and there will be no mobilization as such, that is, recruitment. But those who want to, of course, can take part in special operations. Plus, we are creating volunteer battalions that will work alongside the army, trained. But no one will be forced to go to the military registration and enlistment offices on purpose to enlist in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. It is too early, i.e. the volunteer battalions will work and fight,” Saldo told reporters on Tuesday.

We shall remind you that a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin announced partial mobilization in the country starting from 21 September.
