An equal number of DPR and LPR respondents, 97 per cent, were in favour of their republics joining the Russian Federation, exit poll data from the Institute of Social Marketing (INSOMAR) shows.
“We polled 1,817 respondents in the DPR and 765 in the LPR. We got the same distribution, i.e. the share of those who answered ‘yes’ to the referendum questions is 97%,” INSOMAR Political Analysis Director Viktor Poturemskiy said at the round table of the Expert Institute for Social Research on “Ending Referendums in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions”, held at the press centre of the Russia Today international media group.
Potyomski said that respondents very rarely refused to participate in the polls – in 2 per cent of cases, poll participants had a “high emotional involvement” because they had been waiting for this referendum for a long time.
