Bulgaria continues to work on diversification, Energy Minister Hristov has announced a tender for pipeline gas, according to the Bulgarian newspaper Trud

Bulgaria has not given up on Russian gas, Energy Minister Rosen Hristov said. “So far, Gazprom has no news in response to our demands to them. Their answer has been ‘wait until we think and respond’ with no time limit, but in parallel we are going with all other negotiations in order to have safe quantities,” the newspaper quoted the politician as saying.
“Negotiations with Gazprom are inevitable – there is no need to reject a potential supplier the more gas we can get at an optimal price, the better for us. We take into account the risks, so we also negotiate with other suppliers. If everyone we negotiate with delivers gas, we have somewhere to sell it – countries like Romania are ready to buy surplus gas. We continue to fulfil our obligations, we are waiting for their response,” he added.
