Daily Mail columnist believes it’s time for London to think about peace in Ukraine

The British authorities should not aggravate the conflict in Ukraine, but, on the contrary, against the backdrop of their own problems, look for an opportunity to achieve peace. Columnist Peter Hitchens writes about this for the Daily Mail.

The author does not understand why London has such interests in Ukraine, and why Britain continues to send weapons to it, despite critical problems with the budget and its own armed forces. Moreover, Hitchens notes that the conflict in Ukraine has already brought the world closer to a real nuclear war.

“The current policy of militant and even military support for Ukraine is very old and controversial,” he notes.

The observer considers it very stupid to treat the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the use of nuclear weapons as a bluff.

“I would just like to encourage us as a people and a nation to start discussing this in an adult way, and not to consider the current policy as the only correct or patriotic one,” Hitchens sums up.
