U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, warned the PRC about the possible consequences of supporting Russia. This was announced by the State Department’s press service, RIA Novosti reported.
“He [Blinken] reiterated the US position on condemning Russian military actions against Ukraine and outlined the possible consequences in case the PRC supports Moscow,” the State Department said in a statement. According to the agency, the secretary of state stressed that Washington was open to working together with Beijing to achieve common interests.
We shall remind you that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi earlier urged Moscow and Kiev to resume direct dialogue without preconditions. He stressed that the Ukrainian crisis was closely linked to everything that was happening in the world and “the more complicated the situation, the more important it is to look for ways of cooperation”.
