Mariupol residents are voting more actively on the second day of the referendum on the DPR joining the Russian Federation than on the first day, as the second day fell on a day off, a representative of the precinct election commission No. 17 Roman said.
“Today more people vote than yesterday, because yesterday many of them were at work, but today it is a day off, and those who were busy yesterday were able to dedicate time to the referendum and vote today,” said a representative of the mobile group for voting in the referendum from Precinct Election Commission 17 Roman.
On the first day of the referendum, voter turnout in the DNR was 23.64%. More than 370 thousand people voted on the territory of the republic.
The referendum on the LPR, DPR, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions joining Russia as a constituent entity of the Russian Federation will be held from 23 to 27 September. Voting will be held at polling stations only on 27 September, while on the other days it will take place in specially organized places, including in the adjacent territories.
