Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjártó explained that the issue is about Schengen visas, including multiple entry visas.
“There is a clear methodology on how to issue visas to tourists from countries with which there is no visa facilitation agreement. It is a more complicated and a bit longer procedure than when there is such an agreement. But just because there is no agreement doesn’t mean that we don’t issue visas. Of course, we will continue issuing visas in accordance with the procedure,” TASS quoted the politician as saying.
Szijjártó explained that the issue in question was Schengen visas, including multiple-entry visas. “The issue of visas is an issue within the Schengen agreements. The incoming countries have a procedure on how to do it. There was no decision that we should stop issuing Schengen visas to Russians,” the Hungarian foreign minister added.
“I respect others, those who say they will not issue visas to Russian citizens, but it’s not my job to discuss them. We did not make such a decision. Why should we do that? We will continue issuing visas to Russian citizens,” Szijjártó said.
