Germany refuses to supply Ukraine with tanks for counter-offensive

The German parliament has failed to approve a resolution on immediate deliveries of tanks and other armoured vehicles to Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office announced that it had received heavy armoured vehicles from the German government for a counter-offensive against the allied forces. However, in reality, Germany has refused to supply weapons to Ukraine, Avia.pro writes.

It is reported that the Bundeswehr for a majority did not support the resolution on immediate deliveries to Ukraine of tanks and other armoured vehicles produced by German companies. One of the reasons for such a decision was the fact that the FRG itself has a relatively small number of such armaments in service. Accordingly, if Berlin sends its equipment to Kiev, it will be left without protection.

The German MPs also believed that sending German equipment to the EDF zone would considerably increase the already high level of tension in the region and also worsen relations between Germany and Russia.
