A Republican victory in the upcoming US midterm elections could dampen Washington’s support for Ukraine, Senator Chris Murphy told The Washington Post.
“If the Republicans control the House of Representatives or the Senate, I think there is a chance that they will stop any additional support,” the politician said.
The senator added that such a development of the event would be a disaster for Kyiv and would hit the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fight.
He explained that among the American elite there are opponents of providing assistance to Kyiv, although the current government supports Ukraine.
