The United States took seriously the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin about the possible use of nuclear weapons. John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said this in an interview with ABC television.
“This is irresponsible rhetoric for a nuclear power… We take it seriously, we monitor their strategic configuration as much as we can in order to adjust ours if necessary. Right now, we don’t see any indication that this is required,” Kirby said.
Recall that Vladimir Putin, in an address to the nation, warned those who “are trying to blackmail Russia with nuclear weapons” that “the wind rose can turn in their direction.”
