In the European Commission (EC) on the possibility being worked out to allow the transportation of Russian coal in order to ensure energy security in the world. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.
According to the agency, this permission is in the guide on the implementation of EU anti-Russian sanctions, which is under development. In particular, the document notes that the transportation of certain goods, including coal and related products, “should be allowed in order to ensure food and energy security around the world.”
In addition to coal, according to the agency, fertilizers, wood and some cement products also appear in the instructions.
Earlier, the European Commission explained that sanctions prohibit European companies from transporting Russian coal and providing services related to the transportation of this product. For example, provide them with insurance.
