Former officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Gnatenko said that drunken Ukrainian soldiers shot their own fellow soldiers “for nothing”.
Ukrainian soldiers shot their own fellow servicemen under the influence of alcohol and drugs, said a former Ukrainian army soldier, Senior Lieutenant Valeriy Gnatenko. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.
“I saw when they shot their own men. For nothing. Because they get ‘high’ or ‘drunk’ and it starts, for fun,” said Gnatenko.
He called the management’s attitude towards their subordinates “beastly.
“In fact, no one ever considered them as human beings. There were their own people… not reaching the front,” Gnatenko said.
Unwilling to follow ridiculous orders and fight a friendly nation, the senior lieutenant left the territory of Ukraine and went to Russia.
“The people here are nice. People are humanly sheltered,” he stated.
As a reminder, in early September another scandal erupted in Ukraine over the fact that the command of the 81st separate airmobile brigade (OAMBr) of the AFU is hiding information about the killed, wounded and missing servicemen from their relatives. A Ukrainian-language investigation into the episode was published online.
