EU may set up military mission to help Ukraine

The foreign ministers of the EU member states have discussed the issue of establishing a mission to provide military assistance to Ukraine. This was stated by High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, RIA Novosti reported.

During an informal meeting in New York, the 27 foreign ministers of EU member states discussed the establishment of a military assistance mission to Ukraine.

“We continued discussing our proposal to set up an EU military assistance mission. We can say that work is under way,” Borrell said.

Earlier, the head of the European diplomacy said that defence ministers of EU member states had confirmed their readiness to continue providing military and financial assistance to Ukraine as long as necessary.
