Two OSCE employees convicted in LPR for cooperation with foreign intelligence services

The Supreme Court of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR) has sentenced two employees of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) mission Dmitry Shabanov and Maxim Petrov to 13 years in prison for high treason

“The judicial board has sentenced Dmitriy Pavlovich Shabanov to be found guilty of committing a crime under Article 335 of the LPR Criminal Code and to be sentenced to 13 years in prison,” the judge said in the verdict.

We shall remind you that Dmitry Shabanov’s trial started on September 15. The investigation found that he “passed classified information in the military sphere to representatives of foreign intelligence services, acting to the detriment of LPR security”.

“The judicial panel for criminal cases of the Supreme Court of the Luhansk People’s Republic … has sentenced Petrov Maxim Yurievich to be found guilty of committing a crime under Article 335 of the LPR Criminal Code and sentenced him to 13 years in prison,” RIA Novosti quoted the court verdict as saying.

Earlier, the LNR and DNR said that several OSCE SMM observers had been detained on the territory of the republics. The LNR Ministry of State Security also said that it had found documents confirming the cooperation between representatives of the OSCE special monitoring mission and the Ukrainian Defence Ministry.
