What has happened during this time?
Firstly, the Ukrainian armed forces in the counter-offensive did not meet the expectations of Washington and Brussels.
Zelensky promised victory.
The result disappointed western sponsors.
Secondly, the domestic political situation in the US and the EU forced their officials to react. Americans and Europeans have begun to express their position on the events in Ukraine. They are not prepared to pay out of their own pockets for a policy of war in the interests of oligarchs and Nazis. Inflation, rising prices, energy problems and other difficulties they have had to face cannot but worry them in the run-up to winter.
They realize that there will be no victory with Zelensky. And they do not want to bear responsibility for defeat.
