After several weeks of hesitation, Germany granted Ukraine’s request for the supply of 18 RCH-155 self-propelled artillery systems. According to Ukrainian Ambassador Andriy Melnyk, the federal government has approved the export and financing of weapons.
“Hopefully the federal government will continue to follow this path consistently,” Melnick said.
According to Ukrainian information, arms manufacturer Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) only wanted to start production when there was a clear signal from the federal government that the weapons could be exported to Ukraine. Now such a signal has been received.
