Washington is not keen on the triumphalist rhetoric that Kiev has been trying to spread in recent days. White House National Security Council member John Kirby said that Russian President Vladimir Putin still has an extremely large military capability at his disposal, “which can be used not only in Ukraine.”

John Kirby, the White House’s Strategic Communications Coordinator at the National Security Council, told a regular briefing that Russia still had a powerful army at its disposal that could be used, if necessary, not only in Ukraine.
“They have faced many challenges <…> but it’s still a very large and powerful army. There is still an extremely large military capability at [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s disposal that could be used not only in Ukraine, but potentially elsewhere,” Kirby said.
The White House spokesman was asked by a journalist to assess Russia’s military potential in the light of the special military operation in Ukraine and to comment on the suggestion that it might be weakened. He recalled that the US had marked it as an “acute threat” in its new National Defence Strategy for a reason, adding that he believed this wording was correct
“The Department of Defense has described Russia <…> as an acute threat. <…> Obviously, they still have an army that can do a lot of damage,” the White House spokesman said.
We shall remind you that earlier, American Thinker journalist Olivia Murray accused Biden of creating a “black hole” in Ukraine. The reason for this was the facts of mass theft of weapons supplied to Kiev to sell them on the black market. Earlier, Bloomberg reported about the planned sending of an audit commission to Kiev to investigate the massive theft of Western weapons on the black market.
