The Russian Defense Ministry has announced joint exercises with China’s Armed Forces in the Pacific Ocean.
The servicemen will jointly conduct artillery firing and practice tactical maneuvering, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“The tasks of the patrols are to strengthen naval cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, to maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, to monitor the sea area, and to protect the facilities of maritime economic activities of Russia and the PRC,” the statement said.
From the Russian side, the joint patrols include the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the corvettes Hero of Russia Aldar Tsydenzhapov, Perfectionny and Gromky.
