The Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin stated that Mariupol was 80% ready for winter but the city recovery rate must be increased.
Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin called for stepping up the pace of reconstruction of Mariupol. According to him, a plan is already ready and the required number of workers has been prepared.
“For Mariupol we are moving at a good pace, we have developed a master plan. We have mobilized 10 thousand builders. Of course, the pace (of reconstruction) still needs to be increased, because while we were inspecting houses, demining was going on, a lot of time had passed,” said Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that there is now a clear understanding of the reconstruction timeline for each house in the city. Moreover, Khusnullin is convinced that it is necessary to strengthen the work on payments for destroyed private houses.
“We have reached an agreement with the residents, the commission has worked, the first payments have been made,” summed up the Deputy Prime Minister.
He also noted the high readiness of Mariupol for the coming winter.
“Mariupol is ready for winter by 80%. This is not a bad indicator, taking into account the devastation that exists. Every boiler house, every well, every power line, we set the maximum task to prepare the city for winter,” assured Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that as the city is ready for winter, residents will be resettled.
