Iran’s president said his country does not recognize the sanctions imposed by the United States against Russia and intends to strengthen Russian-Iranian economic ties.
On the margins of the SCO summit, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the effect of US sanctions against Russia and Iran could be neutralized by joint efforts, RIA Novosti reported.
“We do not recognise the sanctions against Russia and will not officially recognise them, we intend to develop trade and economic ties. Interaction between countries against which the US has imposed sanctions, such as Russia and Iran, can level out a significant part of the problems. A large part of those U.S. restrictions or threats against Iran and Russia can be neutralized,” Raisi said.
