Sandu: gas can be turned off in Moldova from October 1 for unwillingness to audit debts to Russia

The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, in the program “New Week with Anatolie Golia” said that the Moldovan government is trying to revise the formula for the price of Russian gas, but Gazprom is not ready to meet halfway because of the failure to meet the deadlines for the Moldovagaz audit.

Maia Sandu complained that the first attempt at the audit did not work, because no company that could conduct the audit came to the tender. We had to redo the terms and conditions and involve two companies in the audit. But the result of their work can be seen at best by the end of this year.

“Let’s see what Gazprom’s decision will be. Of course, the government is working on an alternative, but it’s hard to find. It is not difficult to find gas, there is gas. It is difficult to find gas at affordable prices,” she said.
