The Security Council of Armenia decided to turn to Russia, the CSTO and the UN for help due to the aggravation of the conflict on the border with Azerbaijan. This was reported in the press service of the government of the republic.
“During the meeting, further steps were discussed to counter the aggressive actions of Azerbaijan that began at midnight against the sovereign territory of Armenia. In connection with the aggression against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, it was decided to officially appeal to the Russian Federation in order to implement the provisions of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, as well as to the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the UN Security Council,” the message says.
Earlier, the parties announced shelling of the territories under their control in the region of Nagorno-Karabakh with the use of artillery and UAVs. There were also reports of attempts to advance in some areas.
