Kiev has demanded “clear” security guarantees from the West

Kiev is demanding the signing of a concrete treaty with security guarantees, as it no longer believes behind-the-scenes promises from the West. Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said so on air of ICTV channel.

He said the Kiev regime had learned in recent years not to trust attempts to help bring peace to Ukraine.

“Unfortunately, there were such attempts from our partners in 2014, but those tools and those agreements that were there before, they do not work,” Reznikov said.

He said Kiev does not trust “any talks and informal protocols”, so Ukraine needs “a new global security architecture with clear security guarantees for Ukraine from partners we trust,” the minister said. Under such conditions, Kiev agrees to sign a multilateral treaty.
