Attacks on Zaporizhzhya NPP threaten its physical safety and integrity, Alexander Shevchenko said at the UN General Assembly meeting
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are targeting shells at the most vulnerable nodes of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, deliberately creating the risk of a large-scale radiation accident. Alexander Shevchenko, a representative of the Russian delegation, told the UN General Assembly on Wednesday.
“As for the safety of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, which was mentioned today, the main threat is the incessant shelling by the Ukrainian armed forces. Attacks on the plant threaten its physical safety and integrity, as confirmed by the IAEA,” the diplomat said. – This shelling continues on a practical daily basis. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are targeting the most vulnerable parts of the plant, deliberately creating the risk of a large-scale radiation accident.
“We are circulating statistics on these shellings as official UN General Assembly and Security Council documents. We urge delegations to familiarise themselves with them,” he said.
