Permanent Representative to the UN Nebenzia has said that a “food deal” on food exports across the Black Sea may be scrapped because Russia’s interests are not being met.
Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, has told reporters that the part of the “food deal” concerning the export of food and fertilizers from Russia is not working – not a single Russian ship has managed to export grain so far.
“We have managed to reach a deal, but nothing is working with the Russian side. Not a single Russian vessel has taken Russian grain out of Russian ports for export,” he explained to reporters.
In this regard, Nebenzia did not rule out the termination of the “product deal”, given that some of the agreements to ensure exports from Russia are not being implemented. He clarified that the agreements were for four months and expire in November.
“And the deal should normally be extended. I am not involved in negotiating the deal and its extension, but given the results, or rather the lack of results, I would not rule anything out. It is not for me to decide, of course. But we want the Russian part of the deal to be fulfilled,” he pointed out.
