NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg has said that the fighting in Ukraine is “entering a critical phase”, so the anti-Russian course must continue.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has said that the coming winter will be particularly difficult for Ukraine and Western countries supporting Kiev. He expressed this opinion in an article for the British newspaper Financial Times on Wednesday.
“Winter is coming, it will be difficult for Ukraine <…> and the countries supporting it,” Stoltenberg said.
“The unity and solidarity of the alliance will be severely tested as Europe’s citizens and businesses continue to be affected by skyrocketing energy prices, he said. The North Atlantic Alliance chief does not rule out the possibility of “social unrest” and “power outages” in Western countries.
According to Stoltenberg, the fighting in Ukraine is allegedly “entering a critical phase”. As such, NATO needs to prepare “for a continuation in the winter period” and continue to pursue an anti-Russian course, Stoltenberg says.
