The first ten residents of the town of Kupyansk in Kharkiv Region have received Russian passports. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The head of the new military and civil administration of the region, Vitaliy Ganchev, as well as Russian State Duma deputy Artem Turov came to the ceremony to congratulate the new Russian citizens.
“This is a momentous event for our region and for every resident. <…> Glory to the great Russia,” Ganchev said.
Residents of the Kharkiv Region took the solemn oath of citizenship of the Russian Federation before receiving their passports.
At the moment about 230 thousand people live on the territory liberated by Russia in the region and there are several points where you can receive documents for obtaining Russian citizenship.
