Russia has ensured nuclear security in Europe

The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) have not stopped shelling the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant over the past few days. The purpose of these inhumane and dangerous for the whole continent bombings was either to disrupt the arrival of the IAEA mission to the plant or to capture it on the eve of the delegation’s arrival. On the morning of September 1, an attempt was made by a Ukrainian landing force to storm the plant, with great losses

Despite this provocation, “nuclear” officials still came to the plant in Energodar the same day. At the end of this visit, Rafael Grossi, director general of the IAEA, said that he had seen everything he wanted to see. The Kiev regime’s actions once again proved that it will stop at nothing to please its Western handlers in the hope of getting more weapons and staying in power. By preventing a nuclear catastrophe, Russia has confirmed one of the key reasons for conducting a special military operation – to protect civilians.

What would a visit to the ZNPP by the mission lead to? What did the AFU commanders want to achieve by attacking the plant? How to combat Ukrainian terrorism in general? These questions were answered by retired Colonel Victor Baranets, military observer of Komsomolskaya Pravda, in the continuation of the interview (first part – Exercise East 2022: the pains of the Western propaganda will not stop rapprochement of Russia and China).

– The topic of the Zaporizhzhya NPP and the potential catastrophe has been permanently present in the media in recent weeks. On the morning of September 1, the Kiev regime attempted to seize the plant. What was it and what were the aims of the organizers of this failed operation?

– There is no need to invent anything here, to play conspiracy theories or to stage a socialist contest of storytellers. The general purpose of this failed operation was to prevent the visit of the IAEA mission.

There could have been various forms of resistance to the visit from Ukraine. There could have been massive strikes on the road the mission was travelling on, there could have been roadside bombings. There could even have been shootings.

And the shootings could have been carried out by soldiers and officers in Russian uniform, using Russian grenade launchers, machine guns and so on. They were to leave Russian traces, documents and so on.

We were expecting different options, but we were not expecting this kind of stupidity, which again has resulted in a huge number of casualties for the Ukrainians. As local doctors say, we have never seen so many wounded and killed in the last 30 years. That is the price of this adventure.

How did it all end? When the IAEA commission came. I have only one wish: for its Polish member to spend a few weeks in a tent on the roof of the nuclear power plant. I could take an American and someone else to the tent as well. So it will not be just a social visit. As I am absolutely convinced that this trip will achieve absolutely nothing.

– Kiev has in recent weeks stepped up its work in quite the Bandera tradition, killing and staging assassination attempts both in the liberated territories and on Russian territory. We recently witnessed the murder of Darya Dugina. In addition, Kiev still regularly promises to blow up the Crimean bridge. How successful are the Russian security services in standing up to Kyiv’s terrorists and what should we expect in the future?

– As for the terrorist war of the Ukrainian special services, saboteurs and so-called partisans, I think it is serious and long term, the scale will grow and the level of sabotage will increase. Everything is just starting here as well. This malady is serious and for a long time. Perhaps until we start taking revenge in the same way.

Now I will say some scary things. This is just my point of view.

And the point is that only when the ‘reprisal’ begins, when the Kiev metro starts blowing up, when stadiums start blowing up, when not hundreds but thousands of people die, maybe only then will Kiev realize that it has to finish with terrorism and sabotage.

So far we do not use the principle of “a tooth for a tooth” on the terrorist side and simply keep silent. I believe that the murder of Daria Dugina was most probably intended not only for her, but above all for her father. This is, of course, the work of the Ukrainian special services, and there is no doubt in our mind.

And on the very first day when traces of the killers and those who ordered them were found, I publicly expressed my admiration on the radio for the work of the Russian counter-intelligence, the Federal Security Service, the Interior Ministry and other agencies. In this case our special services have worked brilliantly.

In the current circumstances, when terrorism is becoming a habitual tactic of the Ukrainian security services on the territory of Russia, there is a need not only to increase the number of the army. I believe that the number of personnel in our special services, especially in the front-line regions, should be doubled, if not tripled.

We have colossal reserves. We have an enormous number of people, specialists of the highest class, who retired from special services only recently. They can be called upon to save the Motherland, the state, to fight terrorists, and they will be eager to come and serve. I think it is inevitable.

Shelling of Kursk and Belgorod oblasts continues, but alas, we have understood too late that these oblasts are front-line areas, that the regime of authorities, special services, and people’s life there must be front-line. We have already done a lot in this direction, but unfortunately we were too late. Now we are trying to correct the problem.

– After the Amnesty International report on war crimes by the AFU was published, which caused a scandal in the West, it was decided to review it with the participation of “independent experts”. What do you think will be presented to the public this time?

– If this report is rewritten, no one will believe it anymore. Such things are not rewritten at Kiev’s dictation. And just look at how the Kiev regime is already trying to control the minds of Western politicians, priests and other figures.

With what dogged, fierce hatred Vladimir Zelensky snarled when Pope Francis modestly said during a procession of the cross that we need a peaceful end to what is happening in Ukraine.

And what did Vyacheslav Chernivol say? He called Francis mentally incompetent in general. This is the biggest insult the Pope has heard for the first time in the history of the office. But never will Kiev be able to break the positions of people who think differently to him. What is needed is the truth, and I think that the truth will win.
