The shutdown of Nord Stream has caused panic in Britain, Bloomberg news outlet reported, citing Angela Knight, former chief executive of Energy UK.
Britain, as well as the rest of Europe, is in shock over the energy supply problems that have been triggered by sanctions against Russian Federation.
“Putin is actually very good at playing economic warfare. He is playing psychological warfare very well. We as a country are panicking – Europe is panicking too, and it’s not surprising,” Knight said.
She also noted that the decision to impose a ceiling on Russian oil prices by G7 countries was expected, adding that Europe made a big mistake when it entrusted energy supplies to “semi-hostile” countries.
