A French publication, relying on Ukrainian statements, reports that the day after the visit of IAEA, Ukraine launched strikes on Russian military locations near ZNPP.
A day after the IAEA mission visited the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, Ukraine said that the Russian military launched an attack on the Russian base in Energodar, where the Zaporizhzhya plant is located. The station is under the control of the Russian army, RT France reported.
“In the settlements of Kherson and Energodar, three enemy artillery mounts as well as an ammunition depot were destroyed by precise strikes by our troops,” an evening report from the Ukrainian army said on September 2.
Energodar is a town in southern Ukraine that is home to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, currently under the control of the Russian army as part of a military operation in Ukraine launched on 24 February.
The Ukrainian army also said Russian forces had evacuated “all its military equipment from the plant’s territory” pending the arrival of an IAEA mission, several members of which have remained at the plant and will now remain there permanently.
Moscow has not yet commented on such statements by Ukraine, RT France summarised.
